Dell PowerEdge R730 – 2U Dual-Socket Rack Server
The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors, giving up to 22 cores per socket and a substantial jump in per-core performance and cache over earlier E5-2600 v3 platforms.
With 24 DDR4 DIMM slots and up to seven PCIe 3.0 expansion slots, the R730 has the memory bandwidth and I/O headroom to run dense virtual machine environments, database engines and HPC data nodes without bottlenecking on RAM or peripheral throughput.
Storage is genuinely flexible: choose a 16 x 2.5" backplane for I/O-heavy virtualisation and databases, or an 8 x 3.5" backplane for up to 64TB of low-cost, high-capacity storage suited to data warehousing and business intelligence. PERC H330/H730/H730P RAID controllers and internal GPU accelerator support extend that flexibility into VDI and imaging workloads.
Configure the exact combination of processors, memory, drives, RAID controller and network daughter card you need through the options below, and the server is built to that specification before it ships.
