Refurbished Server FAQs

What does “refurbished” actually mean here?

Every server arriving at our facility is stripped, inspected and rebuilt. Failed or worn components are replaced, firmware is brought up to date, and the system is burn-in tested under load before it is listed. It is not a wipe-and-resell operation, which is why each unit carries a 12-month warranty.

Is a refurbished server reliable enough for production?

Enterprise server hardware is built for years of continuous operation, and the components that wear — drives, fans, power supplies — are the ones we test hardest and replace where needed. A tested refurbished server typically gives you a specification two or three tiers above what the same budget buys new.

Can I have it built to a specific configuration?

Yes. Our configurable servers let you choose processors, memory, drives and RAID controller, and we build and test that exact configuration before dispatch. If you need something the configurator does not cover, contact us and we will quote it.

Are rail kits, bezels and management licences included?

Where fitted, genuine rails, bezels and power cables are included, and each listing states what is supplied. iDRAC and iLO licence levels are listed per system and can be filtered on this page.

Can I upgrade the server later?

Yes. All systems take standard enterprise components, and we stock compatible memory, drives, controllers and network cards for the platforms we sell — so the upgrade parts carry the same warranty and are known to work in that chassis.
