The DL360 Gen9 packs a dual-socket, 1U rack chassis with 24 DDR4 DIMM slots and support for up to eight SFF or four LFF hot-plug drives, making it one of the most space-efficient general-purpose platforms HPE has produced.
This generation moved to Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors, bringing meaningful gains in per-core throughput and memory bandwidth over the previous DL360p Gen8, along with HP SmartMemory DDR4 running at up to 2,133 MHz.
On the capability side you get a choice of Smart Array or Smart HBA controllers, embedded 4x1GbE plus a FlexibleLOM slot, dual single-wide GPU support, five USB 3.0 ports, and iLO 4-based lights-out management with UEFI and HP RESTful Interface Tool scripting.
